Grand Cru Mambourg
Another great terroir for Gewurztraminer
On the twin hill to the Furstentum, also with a southern exposure, lies the Mambourg over the village of Sigolsheim. It displays soils of calcium and magnesium, with a base of limestone conglomerates and marl of the tertiary period.
Overhanging the valley of Kaysersberg and located between 210 and 350m of altitude, it benefits from an optimal sunshine duration.
As of 783AD, history reveals that the wines of the Mambourg were very renowned. A large number of monasteries and lords were in possession of the terroir and gave it their letters of nobility.
Our Mambourg Gewurztraminers are harvested overripe and reveal body, elegance and aromatic diversity.
